”In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.” - Bristol Palin
Am I missing something here? I thought she was raising her child as a single parent. Not sure if this puppet even knows what it is she is saying.
Bristol Palin is “famous” because her mom was so quotable (not in a good way) and because she was knocked up before marriage. Now she is the spokesperson for America’s conscience? WTF?“I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.”—
Bristol Palin, reacting to Barack Obama crediting his daughters for influencing his support of same-sex marriage.
The chickens are checking out their new roosting place. I hope they like it!
We aren’t a real farm, yet. Hopefully this will turn into something really big one day.
For those of you that follow me for my farming posts and really don’t care about my political posts you can now see those with this account. It isn’t much yet but I hope it will be before too long!
Why is asking for same sex marriage a “war on marriage” anyway? I thought a war on marriage would be to not allow people to get married. Hmmm… The only argument is that it would “destroy the sanctity of marriage.” How the fuck would it do that people? And where do you draw the line?
I think that fat, ugly and stupid people shouldn’t be allow to wed due to the fact that they reproduce at a higher rate than average and above people do spreading their physical misfortunes to other generations, thus ruining this sanctity as well. Should we ban them from being able to get married as well? Of course, I am not serious about that, but it sounds absurd right?
These people that are claiming it is because the Bible tells them it is wrong need to shut up. It also says to obey thy mother and father and the man is the head of the house and the woman is to serve him. Do you follow that to the letter? I doubt it. Or how about no sex before marriage? Yeah, didn’t think so. Or not to envy thy neighbor, keeping up with the Jones anyone?
My point is pull the Bible out of your ass and stop picking and choosing what you want to believe just to justify your being an asshole. If you want to be all religious fine, but how about you live like the religion teaches. That is to love others, not to judge others and to help those in need. After all, isn’t that what a majority of the stories about Jesus teach?
To everyone complaining about “being hated on” because you live in NC even though you didn’t support Amendment 1 don’t take it personally. People are not calling you out by name, they are calling out your state. Your state is hateful. A majority of its voting age people who participated yesterday passed that amendment. When I say that NC is a horrible place because it passed Amendment 1 what I really mean is that everyone that voted for it sucks. Does this make sense? It is a lot like people saying that Americans are ignorant, war mongering assholes. There is a history of a majority of us being that way, we approved leadership that took the country in that direction. Therefore some of us are unjustly lumped into that stereotype. Is it fair? No, but that is life. Sorry.
Everyone is so upset with North Carolina right now and I don’t get it. Why just them? There are 29 other states that have similar amendments (10 of which specifically define marriage as one man one woman), we should be outraged with all of them. This problem will be even greater if the GOP wins big nationally in November. It has the chance of being a Constitutional Amendment at that point. Just think only 8 other states would have to have a similar mindset to reach 3/4.
I know broad statements about people isn’t fair but I am lazy so here we go. I think that the majority of our country is ignorant and redneck, this worries me. I live in the heart of Redneck where trucks still ride around with confederate flags on them. You can even get a license plate with one on it!
I heard a number that surprised me yesterday. 80%, that was the turnout in France for their most recent election. 80%! In 2008 people thought 58% was high in the US. You know, the home of democracy and all other things sacred. Those stinky Socialist over in France do a better job at this voting thing than we do. But Socialism is evil isn’t it? You don’t have any say in what happens and everything is given away to make things equal. Nobody would ever support such a thing. Or would they? All I could do was laugh when I heard this turnout number. Then I wondered what Fox News would have to say about this.
I just watched an interview of Newt discussing the lack of diversity in the GOP and he made the statement that the Democratic convention couldn’t have a discussion about Pro-Life. Trying to say that they were not diverse because of that. I wanted to punch the interviewer for not countering with the fact that the GOP couldn’t have a discussion about Pro-Choice, thus nullifying his idiocy. He thought that naming a small handful of nut job minorities makes the GOP diverse.
It smells like a garbage truck caught on fire outside of a Dollar General at my house. Maybe because that actually happened a block away. I think it is time to move.
Romney suggests that we borrow money from our parents to start a business. I’m sorry asshole, but I have larger aspirations than a lemonade stand in my front yard.
